Project description

Listed in the cantonal inventory, this unusual building in a residential area is subject to strict renovation criteria. When the time came to renovate the roof, the owners of this 1970s house wanted to find an integrated photovoltaic solution that met cantonal standards and preserved the architectural aesthetics. So they turned to Freesuns.

Like all owners of listed buildings, they had to submit a special application to the relevant authorities. Fortunately approval was extremely swift, and within 15 days of submitting the application, the customers were confirming the project to Freesuns.

Today, Solaris™ Heritage tiles cover this majestic 10-slope roof. An aesthetic effort was made on the wind vane and ridge area, with tiles covering the copper angle irons placed underneath, to make them invisible. This magnificent installation was carried out by Robert Weber AG, a tinsmith and roofing company.

On a total surface area of 442 m2, there are 390m2 of "active tiles". An annual production of > 40000 kWh is expected, enough to cover all the household's electricity needs, including recharging electric cars. The owners also expect to be able to feed 20,000 kWh back into the grid each year.

An incredible project with exceptional results!
